As part of our platform independent strategy Omnix are doing platform
tests under the PalmOne
Treo 650 Smartphone.
In the past we have deployed our mobile solution on PDA's such as the
O2 (XDA), i-mate and Symbol devices running CE and PocketPC.
The Treo 650 is a mobile phone with email, an organiser, messaging
and web access. There's also Bluetooth® technology so you can connect
wirelessly to other Bluetooth devices. Not to mention an MP3 player,
a digital camera that captures video and a vibrant colour screen that
brings everything to life - all in a device that's still small enough
to fit in your pocket.
This partnership also includes Grabba (barcode scanning/card reader)
and Pacific West Data (mobile systems integrator). The four companies
bring a tried and tested application for Transport and logistics Companies
with more than 200 installations.
PalmOne is also talking to carriers like Telstra for a bundled monthly
plan (no upfront cost), which include handset, scanner, voice and data.
This will assist Transport organizations to take up new technology to
drive efficiency in their business without incurring large capital cost.
Come and see us at stand 22 at Freight
2005 Melbourne
Exhibition Centre on 14-16th September 2005.
